How tarot works
A tarot deck has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana cards that mark big life themes and turning points, and 56 Minor Arcana cards in four suits — Wands (fire and action), Cups (water and emotion), Swords (air and thought) and Pentacles (earth and the material world).
Cards can land upright or reversed. We use the classic Rider-Waite-Smith imagery from 1909, which is in the public domain, and describe what each card is showing so you can connect the symbols to your own situation.
Frequently asked questions
Is this tarot reading free?
Yes. Every spread is free, with no sign-up. Cards are drawn at random each time from the full 78-card deck.
What do reversed cards mean?
A reversed (upside-down) card usually points to a blocked, delayed or inward version of the card’s energy rather than a “bad” meaning. Each card page explains both directions.
How accurate is a tarot reading?
Tarot is best treated as a tool for reflection, not a prediction machine. The cards give you a structured prompt to think through a question — the useful part is what you notice in yourself.
Which spread should I choose?
Use a single card for a quick daily message, the three-card spread for how a situation is evolving, and the love, career or money spreads when your question is about one of those areas.
Tarot is for entertainment and self-reflection. Card images are from the public-domain Rider-Waite-Smith deck (1909).
