Judgment · Youthful Inexperience
Auspicious“Success. I do not seek the young student; the young student seeks me. At the first asking I answer; asking again and again is an insult, and I do not answer an insult. It is fitting to persevere.”
The Image: A spring comes out beneath the mountain: youthful ignorance. The noble person acts decisively to nurture character.

Very auspicious“Being kind to the ignorant: good fortune. Taking a wife: good fortune. The son can look after the family.”
Patience and acceptance with someone less experienced brings good things and lasting results.

Caution“Do not marry this woman: seeing a man of gold, she loses herself, and nothing is favorable.”
Don’t be dazzled by the shiny option and lose yourself. Pass on a relationship of this kind.

Caution“Entangled in ignorance: humiliation.”
You are stuck in your own limitations and have no teacher. Find a better guide.

An open, humble, beginner’s mind is lucky. Be willing to learn.

Caution“Striking at ignorance: it is not fitting to act as a bandit; it is fitting to guard against bandits.”
Correct firmly but not harshly. Protect against harm rather than punishing.
