Seven Killings Pian Guan

The Ten Gods describe how every other character in a Saju (Four Pillars, BaZi) chart relates to your Day Master, the “you” of the chart. Seven Killings belongs to the Authority group, and it is paired with Direct Officer (the same relationship with the opposite polarity).

Seven Killings (Pian Guan) stands for strong drive and a spirit of challenge, and sometimes for pressure and trials too. You have a competitor’s nature that shows true worth in a crisis and often stand out in seats with heavy responsibility. You can often be in situations of stress and burden, so it helps to prepare your own way of releasing tension in body and mind.

• In your Year Pillar (childhood and family): It is likely you matured early in a strict or pressured environment.
• In your Month Pillar (career and social life): You often meet strong bosses and challenging tasks in work with large responsibility and pressure.
• In your Day Pillar (your inner self and marriage): There is a strong energy in the spouse seat, a tense relationship with a charismatic partner.
• In your Hour Pillar (later life and children): Responsibility remains in later life, but your children can be a dependable support.

The energy of strong charisma (Seven Killings) sits in your spouse seat, so you are drawn to driven, tough partners. There may be tension and conflict, but it can be a relationship that helps each other grow.

• Work: Responsibility and workload grow, but if you carry it through your ability is recognized.
• Money: Keep spare funds for unexpected spending (repairs, fines, family events).
• Love: You can easily become hasty or touchy. Say any hurtful remark a day later.
• Health: Watch for tension headaches and stiff shoulders, and rest well.

A year of being tempered under pressure

Responsibility, challenge and pressure grow this year. Work may pile up or unexpected problems arise, but if you get through well, your position and skill rise a level. Overwork and stress can affect your health, so a plan for rest is essential.

A decade of trials and tempering

Responsibility and pressure grow. You can easily feel burdened by a heavier workload, competition and changes in your environment, but if you endure and carry it through, your skill and position rise a level. Keep a routine for health and releasing stress, and avoid overpromising and risky decisions.

Challenge and pressure come together this month. Make a habit of short breaks that release tension.

This month’s tip: pick just three priorities to handle, and keep 30 minutes a day free to unwind body and mind.

It depends on your Day Master. Find yours in the table to see which stem plays Seven Killings in your chart.
