Gui Mao Day Pillar 癸卯

The Day Pillar is the two characters of the day you were born: a Heavenly Stem on top (your Day Master, the “you” of a Saju chart) and an Earthly Branch below (your inner self and spouse palace). In Gui Mao (癸卯), the Day Master is Gui Water (a clear spring and a gentle drizzle) sitting on the Rabbit branch, whose element is Wood.

You sit on the wood of expression (Eating God), emotionally rich with varied talents. Kind and good with style, you shine in the arts and service fields.

Gui Water is like a clear spring or a fine drizzle that quietly seeps in and moistens everything. Your intuition is excellent and you sense even what can’t be seen. You may look quiet but think deeply inside, and stay calm in a crisis. You rarely show your inner thoughts, so opening up a bit more to close people helps.

What makes Gui Mao different from the other five Gui Water Day Pillars is the branch it sits on, covered below.

With Mao beneath your Day Master, you are delicate and sensory and value atmosphere in relationships. There is soft energy in your spouse seat, so you are drawn to kind, tasteful people. You notice even small changes in your partner and feel hurt as easily, so if you wonder about something, don’t hold it in but ask.

The energy of ease and expression (Eating God) sits in your spouse seat, so you tend to meet warm, easygoing partners. Everyday life of eating and enjoying things together becomes the vitality of the relationship.

Gui Water loves gently and sensitively like a drizzle. Highly empathetic, you read and comfort your partner, but you think a lot and easily imagine worries alone. When you want to check something, ask instead of guessing.

Eating God here means: Eating God (Shi Shen) stands for ease, expression and the power to use talent naturally. Many people with it have a smooth flow without big trouble in making a living, and it is the energy often seen in people who work happily using a hobby or specialty. A relaxed, optimistic nature puts people at ease, but you need the balance of keeping yourself in check so ease doesn’t turn into laziness.

Growth (Chang Sheng): the energy of a newborn baby, with growth possibilities wide open. You are good at learning and starting, and help comes easily from others.

Hidden inside the Rabbit branch: Jia (Wood, 10 days), Yi (Wood, 20 days). These quieter energies show up in private, under stress or later in life.

Areas to look after: kidneys, bladder, reproductive organs, ears, bones and lower back.

Too much Water energy can cause swelling or chills, and thoughts chaining on may deepen low mood. Exercise that makes you sweat, sunlight and turning thoughts into action with a to-do list help.

Too little Water energy brings dryness and fatigue that doesn’t recover, and the lower back, knees and ears may weaken. Drink water often, sleep enough and build lower-body strength.

• Six Harmony: the Rabbit pairs with the Dog. People with a Dog Day Branch often feel an easy pull toward you.
• Three Harmony: the Rabbit · Goat · Pig form a Wood team, so those animals tend to bring out your best.
• Clash: the Rabbit clashes with the Rooster. It is not doom, only a spot where friction and change come easily.
• Perfect match on stem and branch: Wu Xu (戊戌) combines with Gui Mao on both the stem and the branch.
• Opposite pillar (most friction): Ji You (己酉): its stem is Seven Killings to you and its branch clashes with yours.
