Blade Star Yang Ren

The star of strong drive and sharpness

What is the Blade Star in BaZi?

Symbolic Stars (shen sha) are extra markers read from particular combinations of characters in a Saju (Four Pillars, BaZi) chart. They describe inborn leanings rather than fixed fate, and schools differ on which stars to use. FateHive uses the nine most widely used.

A strong energy like a blade’s edge, with excellent competitiveness, decisiveness and drive. You find strength in a crisis and do well in professional fields, the military and police, medicine and law. Your words and actions can turn sharp when emotions run high, so you really need your own way of taming anger.

How is the Blade Star found?

Only five Day Masters have this star. Each points to one branch; if it appears in any pillar of your chart, the star is there. Day Masters not listed do not have it.

  • Jia Wood Day Master: Rabbit (Mao)
  • Bing Fire Day Master: Horse (Wu)
  • Wu Earth Day Master: Horse (Wu)
  • Geng Metal Day Master: Rooster (You)
  • Ren Water Day Master: Rat (Zi)

Blade Star in each pillar of your chart

  • Year Pillar (childhood and family influence): there may have been a strong personality or tension at home in childhood.
  • Month Pillar (social life and career): you stand out in your work through competition and professional skill, and need to watch a hot temper.
  • Day Pillar (you and your spouse relationship): struggles over who leads easily arise with your partner, so soft expression is needed.
  • Hour Pillar (later life and children): your energy remains strong in later life so you stay active, and managing health and safety matters.

Symbolic Star readings are simplified interpretations following common Saju practice and differ between schools. They are for entertainment and self-reflection.
