Peach Blossom Star Tao Hua

The star of charm and popularity

What is the Peach Blossom Star in BaZi?

Symbolic Stars (shen sha) are extra markers read from particular combinations of characters in a Saju (Four Pillars, BaZi) chart. They describe inborn leanings rather than fixed fate, and schools differ on which stars to use. FateHive uses the nine most widely used.

A star of attractiveness that draws people, a mood that wins goodwill from the opposite sex, and artistic sense. You make a good first impression and popularity follows, and you do well in service, broadcasting, the arts and beauty. But relationships can become complicated or you may be swept up in emotion, so drawing clear lines is necessary.

How is the Peach Blossom Star found?

Take your Year Branch and your Day Branch. Each one belongs to one of four Three Harmony groups, and each group points to one branch. If that branch appears in any pillar of your chart, the star is there.

  • Water group (Monkey · Rat · Dragon): Rooster (You)
  • Wood group (Pig · Rabbit · Goat): Rat (Zi)
  • Fire group (Tiger · Horse · Dog): Rabbit (Mao)
  • Metal group (Snake · Rooster · Ox): Horse (Wu)

Peach Blossom Star in each pillar of your chart

  • Year Pillar (childhood and family influence): from childhood you were loved for a charming impression, and you win goodwill easily at first impressions in society.
  • Month Pillar (social life and career): your charm that draws people stands out in work and social activity. You suit service and public-facing work.
  • Day Pillar (you and your spouse relationship): you have great romantic charm, and your partner is good-looking or you yourself are popular with the opposite sex. Draw clear lines in relationships.
  • Hour Pillar (later life and children): charm and popularity continue into later life, and may appear as artistic hobbies or your children’s talents.

Symbolic Star readings are simplified interpretations following common Saju practice and differ between schools. They are for entertainment and self-reflection.
